Tracking the Pack - Episode 6: Mason Crosby, 'the Harris factor' and roster surprises

By Jay Sorgi. CREATED Aug 27, 2013

GREEN BAY - After a day of roster moves and a lot more developments during training camp, there was lots to talk about for TODAY'S TMJ4's Lance Allan and 620WTMJ Packers analyst/NBC26 sports anchor Larry McCarren.

Among the topics - the survival of Mason Crosby after a spectacular practice performance to save his job - for now.

"In a serious deal, with head-to-head competition in a very difficult situation as far as alternating kicks, Mason Crosby rose to the occasion...he kicked better than he ever has," said Larry.

The Packers additionally had to put running back DuJuan Harris, tackle Bryan Bulaga and six others on two different injured lists, with Harris having to miss the entire 2013 season.

"He is a good player.  He was a productive player last season.  However...I thought all along since Eddie Lacy has played in live conditions with live tackling, that he's the best of the bunch."

"As long as Eddie Lacy stays healthy, they should be OK."

Lance and Larry talked about a lot of other subjects, including the great night by the Packers' first-team defense against Seattle and who could surprise and find their way onto the Packers' 53-man roster.
