The Green Bay Packers are back in control of their NFC playoff destiny.

Here, we break down what has to happen for the Packers to make the playoffs, and a number of possible scenarios:

For the Packers to win the NFC North
- The Packers must beat the Chicago Bears in Week 17.

The Packers cannot earn the No. 1, 2 or 3 seeds or a wildcard in the NFC playoffs.

Who could the Packers play in the playoffs?  (As long as the Packers don't put the cart before the horse, we can.)

If they are the No. 4 seed:
- Wildcard game: They would face the No. 5 seed
- Divisional playoff:
  - If the No. 3 seed wins the other wildcard game, they would face the No. 1 seed
  - If the No. 6 seed wins the other wildcard game, they would face the No. 2 seed
- NFC Championship Game:
  - They could face the No. 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 seeds

NFC clinching scenarios (not including ties)

Seattle Seahawks (current No. 1, only NFC team with playoff spot clinched)
- Can clinch the No. 1 seed with a win or a San Francisco loss

Carolina Panthers (current No. 2)
- Can clinch the No. 2 seed with a win in week 17 or a New Orleans loss

Philadelphia Eagles and Dalls Cowboys (current No. 3)
- Winner of their head-to-head game next Sunday wins the No. 3 and the NFC East.

Chicago Bears (current No. 4)
- Can clinch the NFC North with one win (at Philadelphia, Green Bay)

New Orleans Saints (current No. 5)
- Can clinch the NFC South with a win and a Carolina loss in week 17

San Francisco (current No. 6)
- Can clinch the No. 6 seed this week by beating Atlanta
- Can clinch the No. 5 seed with two wins (Atlanta, at Arizona)
- Can clinch the No. 1 seed with two wins and two Seattle losses (Arizona, St. Louis)
