Some NFL fans may say Cowboys-Redskins, Ravens-Steelers or Seahawks-49ers is the NFL's best rivalry.
Sorry, but Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy says their 93-year series with the Chicago Bears trumps them all.
"This is 'The Game' in the NFL, what it stands for, the traditions in this organization, the great players that came before us," said McCarthy on Thursday in preparation for their battle Monday night at Lambeau Field (5:00 p.m. on 620WTMJ).
"We have a commitment to take that emphasis, that energy into the football game."
It's a sentiment his Chicago coutnerpart, Marc Trestman, said. As tweeted by WSCR Radio's Zach Zaidman:
Trestman on what he told his players: "If we can't do it on Monday night at Soldier Field, where else but at Lambeau Field."— Zach Zaidman (@ZachZaidman) October 31, 2013
The teams have played 206 times since 1921 (including preseason, regular season and two postseason tussles).
