A week ago, Corey Linsley was just the Packers' back-up center.
Now, he will be starting against the reigning Super Bowl champions next Thursday in Seattle. His start against the Chiefs on Thursday was a valuable experience for him.
"It was extremely valuable for two reasons," Linsley explained to Larry McCarren after the Packers' final preseason game. "Obviously starting the game you don't have a quarter to wait and ease in... Another reason is they've been harping on me to get the calls in faster and I felt like I did a good job of that tonight."
McCarren noted that Linsley appears to be able to make all the necessary blocks, which makes his only question mark a matter of confidence.
"It takes a lot of the nervousness off of it," Linsley said. "Am I strong enough? Am I quick enough? Am I fast enough? I don't have to worry about that."
So will he be ready for the Seahawks?
"Absolutely. I will be by the end of the week. That's for sure," Linsley said.
