Jeff Janis has taken advantage of pretty much every chance he's gotten this preseason.
After scoring a touchdown against the Rams, he hauled in an impressive 33-yard score on Thursday night against the Cheifs. He also returned three punts and one kick, which he took 62 yards.
"I fell pretty good about (my performance)," Janis said. "I showed the coaches I can make some big plays out there when they're thrown my way."
Confidence is clearly growing for the seventh-round pick.
"It's pretty exciting. I knew I had more speed than the DB's," Janis said.
When asked by Larry McCarren about returning kicks and punts, Janis noted he enjoys the role.
"I like the kickoff return," Janis said. "If you're a receiver and you want to make the team, you have to play special teams."
He doesn't have a roster spot guaranteed, but Janis isn't going to regret anything about his first NFL training camp.
"I'm just going to stay positive and know I gave it all, gave it my best shot," Janis said.
