GREEN BAY - Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was not at Packers practice on Tuesday, but apparently, Packers fans shouldn't panic.
The Journal Sentinel's Tom Silverstein gave the first inklings of the real reason.
Rodgers may be out with illness I'm told.— Tom Silverstein (@TomSilverstein) August 20, 2013
To reiterate, Aaron Rodgers has a slight illness that has been going around the team and has been given the day off.— Tom Silverstein (@TomSilverstein) August 20, 2013
Packers coach Mike McCarthy later explained Rodgers was "held from practice due to an illness...I fully expect him to practice tomorrow.""
MM on Rodgers' illness: Aaron is one of the many thousands of people that has a head cold, so I think he's going to be fine.— Brian Carriveau (@BrianCarriveau) August 20, 2013
According to ESPN writer Rob Demovsky and others who initially reported it, there was also no cause for worry.
Was told "everything's fine" with Rodgers. McCarthy will explain the absence after practice.— Rob Demovsky (@RobDemovsky) August 20, 2013
Rodgers' absence from practice doesn't appear to be anything serious. MvCarthy will have update after practice. #Packers— Mike Vandermause (@MikeVandermause) August 20, 2013
