BROOKFIELD - Fans of high school basketball had been anticipating the game between Germantown and Brookfield Central for months, so when tickets went on sale last week they disappeared within hours.
"It's going to be better than the state championship. You got the two best teams going head to head," said Pete Stuberg.
Stuberg arrived with his son, but without a ticket for the 8th grade fan of Brookfield Central. Amazingly, another fan had an extra.
"I just got that ticket for face value about five minutes ago," Stuberg said, smiling.
That got him into a game against number one ranked Germantown, which held the state record for consecutive wins at 69.
Those who scored a ticket were able to see Central pull off the upset and stop the streak, defeating the number one team in the state 68-58.
