Former Governor Marty Schreiber's new challenge
Marty Schreiber has engaged in battle at the highest levels of Wisconsin government. Schreiber was a two term State Senator. He was Lieutenant Governor for six years before becoming the Governor of Wisconsin in 1977.
After leaving office he became a successful businessman.
Schreiber has seen a lot and battled a lot.
Now is facing what he calls 'the biggest challenge of his life'.
Marty Schreiber is a care taker for his wife of 53 years, Elaine. Elaine has Alzheimer's disease and everyday it robs her of a little more of the wife and mother she has been.
Everyday it also takes a little more of Marty. He doesn't complain about it. He doesn't whine about it. He just does what needs to be done. He lovingly and patiently takes care of Elaine, depsite the fact that she has a tough time even remembering who this man is thatshe has been married to for 53 years.
