Traumatized ... By Nerf Guns?
Six students from Wausau West High School received disorderly conduct citations for pointing Nerf guns at each other and a passing cars Tuesday night.
That's right. Nerf guns (which by the way look nothing like real guns)!
Apparently a couple of residents in a neighborhood where the kids were playing observed the activity and called police to report "people with guns". When police arrived, they found the kids with the toys and issued citations.
One man says that the Nerf guns "traumatized" his child who "didn't sleep last night, he didn't sleep well at all".
"Nerf Wars" have apparently been going on for a couple of years and the school has warned kids that any complaints would be investigated. It's one thing to investigate, however it's another thing to issue charges.
During the 12 p.m. hour of Thursday's radio show, we'll discuss whether the police overreacted to this situation?
