The Return Of Hanoi Jane

The Return Of Hanoi Jane

By Jeff Wagner. CREATED Jun 3, 2014

Let me get this straight.  Condoleezza Rice is too controversial a figure to give the commencement address at Rutgers but Jane Fonda is a perfect fit for UCLA?  Go figure.

Back in 1972, at the height of the Viet Nam War, Fonda travelled to Hanoi, met with enemy soldiers and referred to U.S. troops as "war criminals".  Her trip was memorialized in photos that showed a smiling Fonda posing next to a North Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun that had been used to kill Americans.

In 2013, Fonda acknowledged that she made an "unforgivable mistake".

Well, apparently her mistake is not "unforgivable" to everyone.

On June 13th, Fonda is scheduled to give the graduation address at UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television's commencement ceremony. A number of veterans are absolutely outraged over the choice.

During the 2 p.m. hour of Tuesday's radio show, we'll discuss whether it's time to forgive and forget?
