Should You Be Able To Pour Your Own?
Selling concessions at Miller Park is a tough way to make a living.
The work is part-time, seasonal and very dependent on factors beyond the control of the vendors (like weather and attendance). In-stand beer vendors work on commission and my guess is that after taxes and union dues, their take-home pay isn't exactly awesome.
At the same time, my guess is that the beer vendors do better than the kids selling cotton candy.
In any event, the concessionaire at Miller Park wants to install two self-service beer vending machines at the stadium. The union representing the vendors is objecting saying that it will cost jobs and hurt the income of the in-stand vendors.
During the 2 p.m. hour of Wednesday's radio program, we'll discuss whether fans should be able to pour their own beer at Miller Park?
