No Booth For You
Peter's Net is a group that promotes Catholic teaching and Catholic Churches in Walworth County. Last year, for the first time, the group operated a booth a the Walworth County Fair.
When the group tried to register for the 2014 Fair, officials told them that they were not welcome. While the objections to the group are somewhat vague, Fair officials say that the group didn't follow the rules, didn't stay within the confines of their booth and didn't notify Fair officials about handouts.
During the Fair, the group acknowledges that it passed out plastic fetuses as well as literature and other religious items.
The group alleges, in great detail, that it is being singled out for its religious beliefs. If the Walworth County Fair continues to deny the group the right to participate in the 2014 Walworth County Fair, a lawsuit seems inevitable.
During the 2 p.m. hour of Thursday's radio show, we'll discuss whether Fair officials are treating Peter's Net the same way they would treat other less arguably controversial groups.
