Move That Train On Down The Line
Shortly after midnight on June 26th, Juan Matias was driving to work. As he drove over a railroiad crossing in Pleasant Prarie, he ran into a train that was parked on the tracks. The railroad crossing had no gate or warning signal.
Matias was seriously injured.
This Tuesday at approximately 4:30 a.m., another driver received minor injuries when he smacked into a train parked at the same railroad crossing. Adding insult to injury, the second driver has been cited for inattentive driving.
The State says that it costs $250,000 to install gates and warning lights at a single railroad crossing. $250,000! I wonder whose brother-in-law has that contract?
In any event, during the 12 p.m. hour of Wednesday's radio show, we'll discuss who is to blame for these recent crashes - and what needs to be done to prevent them in the future?
