Storm Team 4: Big chill today before snow comes this week

  • The cold wind has arrived and the forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for an arctic blast the next 36 hours.

  • Except for flurries, the snow is over, but temperatures continue to drop into the lower teens with wind chills of 0 to -10 all day thanks to westerly winds of 20-40 mph.

  • The sky clears Tuesday night, and the temperatures drop into the single digits, above and below zero, with wind chills of -10 to -20.

  • Wednesday will be a little nicer with highs near 20, a lighter wind and lots of sun, but wind chills will be near 0.

  • High pressure is slowing the next storm system down and Thursday will be dry with increasing clouds and highs in the upper 20s.

  • The snow will start late in the evening and mainly be an overnight snow event that will taper off Friday afternoon.

  • When it is all said and done, most of SE Wisconsin will have 3-5" of snow.

  • The weekend looks great with lots of sun, and highs back in the mid 30s for the snow lovers to enjoy!
