  • MILWAUKEE - A deep trough in the upper levels of the atmosphere is digging into the center of the nation. This is allowing the much, much colder air to remain in place across our region.

  • Readings across Southeast Wisconsin will once again remain in the 30s, about 10 degrees below where we should be for this time of year. On the plus side, winds will continue diminishing, so there will be less of a chill to deal with.

  • As surface high pressure builds in, we'll also scour out the clouds and get plenty of sunshine on Tuesday with dry weather persisting through the rest of the week. We'll also notice a very gradual moderation in the mercury with readings returning to near 50 degrees by the weekend.

  • Today: Sunny and cold | High: Near 37 | Wind: W-SW 5-10 mph

  • Tonight: Increasing clouds and very chilly | Low: Near 28 | Wind: SSW 3-8 mph

  • Wednesday: Filtered sunshine and warmer | High: Near 44 | Wind: S 7-15 mph

  • Wednesday night: Becoming partly cloudy and more seasonal | Low: Near 31 | Wind: S 5-10 mph

  • Thursday: Partly cloudy and warmer | High: Near 48
