Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Just because a coach's son plays football doesn't mean he's going to become the next Pro Football Hall of Famer.
(For example, Vince Lombardi's son Vince, Jr. turned into a lawyer after playing college football, not the second coming of Paul Hornung or Jim Taylor.)
But that doesn't mean Mike McCarthy's son can't enjoy the game for which his dad is a Super Bowl winning coach.
"Our boy Jack got to play this year for the first time," said the coach on "The Mike McCarthy Show," which airs on TODAY'S TMJ4 and NBC26.
"He played linebacker and tight end, and actually got to play quarterback the last game of the season."
McCarth then quipped, :Quarterback school will start for Jack in February."
