The U.S. women's hockey team, with four Wisconsin Badgers and a Madison native on the roster, are off to a good start in the Sochi Olympic Winter Games after a win over Finland.
They're also inspiring young hockey players from Brookfield, particularly the girls.
Team USA's Brianna Decker grew up in Dousman, but skated at Eble Park in Brookfield.
"I was really happy for her, because it's good to see that another girl got that far," said Layne Diffley, a young hockey player who now skates at Eble.
She also told TODAY'S TMJ4 that having Decker in the Olympics shows that boys aren't the only ones who can get rough on the ice.
