Training Camp: First impressions on Packers rookies

By Larry McCarren. CREATED Aug 1, 2013

GREEN BAY - Larry McCarren talks about the first week of Packers Training Camp and how important first impressions can be. Watch as Larry outlines the rookies in camp and how they look on the field so far.

Defensive End, Datone Jones: He's a 'keeper'.  He looks like a player in every respect.

Running Back Eddie Lacy: Still waiting for some 'Wow' runs, but he did look better in the confined corners of the Red Zone.

Tackle Davide Bakhtiari: Really impressed with his techniques and results. He has the makings of a good one.

Running Back Johnathan Franklin: He has shown the 'Wow' factor. He has some shake to his game.

Corner Back Micah Hyde: Looks like a good player. May be considered a steal in the 5measurables>

Defensive Lineman Josh Boyd: He's got some tools, but we've only seen them in flashes. He's probably doing too much thinking.

Linebackers Nate Palmer and Sam Barrington: Neither has jumped out as of yet, either good or bad.

Wide Receivers Charles Johnson and Kevin Dorsey: Both are impressive as far as the messureables go, but both have been consistantly on the sidelines with injuries. Grade them 'incomplete'.
