Report: Flynn 'appears likely' to return

By Jay Sorgi. CREATED Mar 28, 2014

A report Friday reveals how the Green Bay Packers are looking for continuity at the backup quarterback position after a year of shuffling backup signalcallers, and the first part of that appears to be the return of Matt Flynn.

ESPN's Rob Demovsky writes that it "appears likely" that the Packers will re-sign Flynn to a deal and have him compete for the No. 2 and 3 positions with Scott Tolzien.

Flynn came to the Packers for his second stint in November as the last step in a virtual carousel that included Graham Harrell, B.J. Coleman, Vince Young, Seneca Wallace and Tolzien.

In his first game in 2013, Flynn led the Packers back from double-digit deficits to tie the Minnesota Vikings and defeat the Atlanta Falcons and Dallas Cowboys.
