Green Bay, WI -- The Packers donated $30,000 on Thursday to help expand local K-9 units. The Green Bay Police Department and the Brown County Sheriff's Department each received $15,000. The Packers say the donations will be used for new, explosive detection K-9 units to not only keep our neighborhoods safe but also to ensure the safety of Packers fans at every game.

"The dogs are invaluable when it comes to they're not only sniffing out explosives to make our jobs easier but also the community safer, and they also help a lot with tracking of individuals and fugitives," said K-9 Unit Supervisor, Lt. Tom Zeigle.
For years, the Packers have been using the K-9 units to sweep Lambeau Field for explosives prior to each home game.
