Today's Outlook

Clouds Coming With Rain Rolling In

A complex series of issues developing through the atmosphere just to our West will lead to an interesting and challenging forecast for the coming few days.  First, the front which passed by this morning will lift back North tonight allowing a return of some slightly warmer air for Sunday, particularly well West of Milwaukee.  Meantime, an upper level low between the Rockies and the Plains will spin some energy off leading to a developing surface low pressure area which will approach us through the day tomorrow.  With so much dry air in place at the surface, little if any precipitation should fall for much of the day, though clouds will fill the skies.  By late afternoon and into the evening enough moisture should be present for showers and some thunderstorms to develop and overspread much of the area, particularly the far Southeast corner of the state.  A cold front should cross the region early Monday morning leading to another generally damp and windy day.  There could be enough instability on the back side of the disturbance to cause a more scattered variety of lingering rain on Tuesday before things should dramatically improve midweek with much cooler air.
