The first teaser trailer for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" has been released.
The trailer doesn't reveal much about the new movie, which is scheduled to be released on Nov. 21. Instead, it is a propaganda video from "The Capitol." In the video, President Snow (played by Donald Sutherland) addresses the people of Panem.
President Snow starts out by telling citizens that if they work hard, the Capitol will protect them. But then his tone turns threatening and he tells citizens that if they resist, they will starve, and if they fight, they will bleed.
As President Snow addresses the citizens, you can see that someone is standing by his side. It is not until the end of the video though that it is revealed to be Peeta Mellark, who is played by Josh Hutcherson.
At the end of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," Peeta was captured by the Capitol. It now appears that he is being used as propaganda fodder in the new teaser.
The "Hunger Games" books, written by Suzanne Collins, center on a post-apocalyptic world where children and teenagers are chosen from 12 districts every year to fight to the death in a televised event called the Hunger Games.
Jennifer Lawrence is reprising her lead role in the franchise's third installment, alongside Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Julianne Moore and Stanley Tucci.
The two previous "Hunger Games" films were hugely successful. The third movie will adapt the first half of Collins' third and final "Hunger Games" book. The fourth movie, based on the second half of the book, will be released Nov. 20, 2015.
The second film, "Catching Fire," was the highest-grossing film released at the North American box office in 2013, according to Hollywood Reporter.
