Neighbors of waste treatment facility upset with delayed move

MILWAUKEE - Neighbors who live near ChemWorks Milwaukee plant say they're disappointed the waste water treatment facility's move could be delayed.

Village leaders in Menomonee Falls put the plan on hold after outraged neighbors complained.
Jesse Metzger owns Birdie's Cafe across the street from the current plant. His excitement turned to doubt with the move in question.
"The smell is enough reason for people not to want to stop at our cafe," he said.
Even though Metzger hopes the plant moves, he's sympathetic with Menomonee Falls neighbors concerns.
"I definitely don't want to see Menomonee Falls go through the same thing we have here." He added.
Those neighbors have complained about a nasty smell coming from the facility several times a year.
ChemWorks owner, Advanced Waste Services said the smells were caused by a shared sewer in Milwaukee. They said that won't be the case in Menomonee Falls.
The Village's planning commission will deny or approve ChemWorks new plans.
