GREENDALE - It's a beautiful day to connect with nature. Scout Lake Park in Greendale--a perfect setting a fishing trip.

Clients at VMP Trinity live with health challenges. but thanks to this program, wheelchairs and

ventilators don't keep them away from the water. Ozell Rainey came up with the idea. She says, "It just kind of puts you in connection with nature. It makes you feel good just to be on the water even if you don't catch anything."

Even if nothing is caught, much is gained.

Alex Blackburn is only 24. He organizes these outings, and values what he learns from his older clients.

"Everything they say is something I can learn from. Different personalities, everybody there has a different story to tell, but they all mesh together really well. A lot of life lessons a bunch of life lessons," Alex explains.

Aides and health professionals help with the baiting and casting, and from the pier of Scout Lake Park, a simple reminder that often life's best times, are born out of the simple moments.

VMP is one of only 3 ventilator programs in Wisconsin.
