Court documents filed by Major League Baseball reportedly say that a firm which Alex Rodriguez hired gave Yahoo! Sports documents connecting the now-shuttered Biogenesis drug firm to suspended Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun.
The New York Daily News says that in a court petition filed in a court in Manhattan, MLB says that Rodriguez got the documents from Anthony Bosch "for the purpose of preventing MLB from obtaining those records and from uncovering evidence of Rodriguez’s use and possession of prohibited substances.”
The paper says that according to the petition, Rodriguez or someone close to him gave those documents to Sitrick and Company, a PR firm. Those documents apparently implicated that Bosch gave Braun performance-enhancing substances, and the PR firm then gave the documents to Yahoo! Sports.
MLB suspended Braun for 65 games for conduct connected to the Bosch case, and he later admitted his use of performance-enhancers.
