CUDAHY - A quiet Cudahy neighborhood became the center of a death investigation Wednesday.
Cudahy Police were tipped off by a 911 call Wednesday morning. The caller said someone was dead inside an apartment building at the corner of Kirkwood and Carpenter Avenues.
Investigators stayed on-scene for more than eight hours, gathering evidence.
"We saw the large police presence and the helicopters and were wondering what was going on," says Randy Condiff, who lives nearby. "It's not good to see anything like this in your neighborhood. We all look out for one another, and this area is usually safe. This is very surprising."
"My kids are out here playing everyday," adds neighbor, Mary Dobrzynski. "When you have kids playing nearby, the last thing you want to see is crime tape. "You never want it to happen in your neighborhood, and then when it does, reality sinks in that this could happen anywhere."
Police did let everyone know there was no danger to the public. Right now they are not seeking any suspects.
They plan to release the identity of the victim and more information Thursday.
