BROOKFIELD – Brookfield is a getting a new upscale shopping center.

Marcus Corp. is behind the project, which they are calling The Corners at Brookfield. Marcus has announced that Von Maur will be the center's anchor store. This will be the retailer’s first store in Wisconsin.

Besides featuring Wisconsin's first Von Maur department store, The Corners will include BRIO Tuscan Grille, Cafe Benelux, Chico's, Colectivo Coffee, CRAVE Restaurant, Grimaldi's Pizza, Hot Mama, Kilwins, White House Black Market, and more.

The 400-thousand square foot retail site will be built just three miles west of Brookfield Square Mall, but those behind the project don't see it as competition.

“[Our goal] is to complement the offerings at Brookfield and along Bluemound Road,” says Katie Falvey of Marcus Corp. “[To] feed off the synergy that is already there.”

The Corners at Brookfield is scheduled to open in 2015.
