Missing woman's mom turns in computer

By Yona Gavino. CREATED Oct 15, 2013 - UPDATED: Oct 15, 2013

MILWAUKEE - Kelly’s mom is just trying to get through each day without her daughter, and remain as optimistic as she can.

Maureen Dwyer is hoping police can find some clues about Kelly’s disappearance. She turned over Kelly’s laptop Tuesday afternoon.  She tells TODAY’S TMJ4 right now, she spends her days alternating between crying and trying to be strong.

“I’m trying to survive every minute of every day,” explains mom Maureen Dwyer. “It’s like dying. That’s what it’s like.”

Her mom thinks Kelly went out for drinks with her boyfriend Thursday. But she never showed up for work at Lululemon in the Third Ward on Saturday.

“We kind of make a date to talk and text back and forth. We say, ok, I’m going to call you at 3 o’clock when you have time to talk and that’s what we do,” explains Dwyer.

Katie Smallwood works nearby the store where Dwyer is employed.

"She's always got a smile on her face, asking how we are, asking how our day is going. I really hope she gets home safely, we're all hoping for a positive outcome."

Kelly’s friends have also been a great support to Maureen during this tough time.

“There’s a lot of people rallying around Kelly because they remember her and they were friends with her,” adds Dwyer.

But not knowing why Kelly vanished is still very troubling to her.

“The thought of never seeing my baby again, I can’t tell you what it’s like,” says Dwyer.

Her mom is planning on doing a search for Kelly. Friends and family have put up hundreds of flyers as well. If you have any information on this case, please contact police.
