Multiple witnesses told police they saw DeMario Denell Jackson at a house party after midnight on July 27 near 2940 N. 12th Street. Numerous fights broke out, and Jackson began firing into a crowd of people.

"He shot Japhet Moore in the head and fired numerous shots into the crowd," the criminal complaint said.

Four people were shot, and Japhet Moore died at the scene. According to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner, the 14-year-old boy from Milwaukee was shot in the head. The other three victims were taken to various hospitals.

"[Jackson] held the gun with both hands and then began firing the gun from left to right in an arc and was firing into the crowd and it did not appear as if he was targeting anyone," a witness said.
