WAUKESHA – A man convicted of kissing a young girl at a lemonade stand will spend two years in prison.
Gregory Davis, 60, admitted to driving drunk when he stopped two girls in a Waukesha neighborhood last June.
The girls claim he wanted much more. One girl told TODAY’S TMJ4’s Cody Holyoke the man even kissed her friend.
"He started saying, ‘You're so beautiful, and I love you. You should marry me,’" she said.
Davis went to jail for the incident. He posted bail months later and was arrested again for drinking and calling the girl's family.
Originally facing 25 years in prison for his actions, Davis took a plea deal, hoping for little prison time. He now stands convicted of 'Causing Mental Harm to a Child.'
"I really apologize, and I'd like to be given forgiveness and mercy in my sentencing," Davis told the court.
Davis had no criminal record until 2013, when he was caught driving drunk twice.
The man admits to issues with alcohol. His attorney claims Davis knows he needs help.
"When he's sober, he's a man who understands his behavior. When he drinks, he makes some very poor decisions," explained attorney Jonathan Lavoy.
Along with the prison sentence, Davis must register as a sex offender for life.
