Man arrested for carrying gun, assaulting wife at workplace

BROWN DEER - A man accused of bringing a gun into a workplace and attacking his wife is now in custody.  The suspect evaded authorities for more than a day.

Authorities have yet to reveal how or where they brought 36-year-old Jorge Aldape into custody on Tuesday.

A man identifying himself as a supervisor at Pitney Bowes Presort Services called 911 during the time when employees were changing shifts Monday morning.

“This is over here at Pitney Bowes.  I need somebody over here.  This guy has a gun in his car.  He’s threatening everybody over here,” the caller told the dispatcher.  “You guys need to just get over here now, seriously, before something happens.”

Police say Aldape followed his wife into work.  The couple was arguing.  The man hit his wife and left.

“We need more security at jobs out here,” an employee told TODAY’S TMJ4 reporter Tom Murray.  “Things got heated.  We got it under control.  No shots were fired.  Nobody got hurt.  The guy left the building and then it was peaceful.”

Brown Deer police circulated Aldape’s picture among other local law enforcement agencies.  He was arrested more than a day after he put the sorting facility on edge.

It appears there is no past criminal domestic violence history with this couple in Wisconsin.

“She hasn’t been employed here in Brown Deer very long.  We haven’t had any past contacts with either of these individuals,” said Lt. Lisa Kumbier of the Brown Deer Police Department.

Pitney Bowes is a global company based in Connecticut.

“We are aware of the incident,” the company said in an emailed statement to TODAY’S TMJ4.  “We are working closely with the authorities.”

Police said they connected the victim with Sojourner Family Peace Center.
