UPDATE: US 45 northbound at Mayfair Road is now open after more than 30 vehicles, including two semi-trucks and two buses, were involved in a crash around 10:45 p.m. Monday.
According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, 30 cars had to be towed and additional ones were able to drive away from the scene.
One person complained of minor neck pain.
No other injuries were reported.
The Sheriff's Office said they responded to 43 crashes from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m, due to icy roads.
Another car accident at the Calhoun Road overpass caused parts of I-94 to be shut down. Cars and a box truck had to be towed from the scene.
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Office said the interstates became solid ice Monday night and salt trucks had to be called in to melt the ice on the roads after the collision.
Deputies said no serious injuries were reported in any of the accidents.
WAUKESHA COUNTY - Icy travel conditions Monday night lead to "dozens" of crashes across southeast Wisconsin, according to the state DOT, including a major closure of I-94 in Waukesha County.
I-94 was completely closed in both directions between Barker Road and Moorland Road in Waukesha due to "multiple traffic incidents," according to the DOT. The interstate was closed just after 11:00 p.m., and was expected to remain closed about an hour.
I-94 eastbound was closed earlier Monday night at County P near Summit, with traffic being diverted off at County P. I-94 westbound also closed at County C near Delafield around the same time. Both of these closures were expected to last about an hour, and the Delafield closure was reopened by 10:30 p.m.
I-43 southbound was also closed in the north to west part of the Hale Interchange in Greenfield, but was reopened by 10:00 p.m.
I-43 also had both a northbound and southbound lane closed at Moorland Road in Waukesha, due to multiple crashes.
Finally, US 45 northbound at Mayfair Road was closed due to a crash just after 11:00 p.m.
