MILWAUKEE - As we get closer and closer to the Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary celebration, drivers will need to find a few detours.

Starting Monday, Layton Avenue on the south side will be closed from 60th to 68th in front of the House of Harley-Davidson dealership.

Construction billboards have been placed in that area to warn drivers of the closure.  The block party will keep that stretch of road closed all week.

Harley Davidson’s 110th anniversary of the hog even has dogs gone wild.

Tremmel and his pal Molly took a ride to check out what’s in store for the rest of the week.

“Oh, yes, ever since she was 8 weeks old.  She just loves to ride.  She whines if I don’t take her along,” said Jim Tremmel of Hales Corners.
“I’ve had a few people go up on the curb, I get a lot of double looks,” Tremmel said.

At the House of Harley, their party is so big, it spills into the streets.

“We have an enormous, 82x180 foot clear span tent which will be air conditioned tent and will include anything with a Harley logo on it,” said Sarah Maio of House of Harley.

They will have 23 live bands including Casey James, Chris Kegel, Aaron Lewis and The Brittons.

They are just one of the stops bike lovers will flock to starting Wednesday.

“We know that all of our colleagues around SE Wisconsin will have parties going on, and it all goes together to make Milwaukee really the mecca for all things Harley,” Maio said.

As for Jim and  Molly, “We’ll be all over.  Thursday we’ll be at the museum, Wednesday at Quaker Steak.”

We know about 130,000 people from all over the world will be here to celebrate all things Harley.  The Harley dealerships want to remind you to keep an eye out for all the bikes on the road.
