Crews battle house fire in Fond du Lac

UPDATE 11:02 a.m.: A fire caused extensive smoke and heat damage to a Fond du Lac home around 2 a.m. Friday.

All the occupants safely exited the home and no injuries were reported.

Upon arrival to 234 East Bank St., firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions from the first floor front room of the single family residence, according to a release from the Fond du Lac Fire Department.

The fire continued to spread to the basement and attic.

A cause has not been determined and the fire remains is under investigation.  


FON DU LAC -- Firefighters in Fond du Lac are on the scene of a heavy house fire that began early this morning.

The blaze erupted at North Park and East Bank Street around 2 a.m. Friday.

At last check crews were still on the scene taking shifts to stay warm.

No injuries were reported.
