Cyber Monday shopping safety
MILWAUKEE – Many people who didn’t want to deal with the large crowds on Black Friday will do their holiday shopping online. The National Retail Federation said eight in ten retailers will offer special “Cyber Monday” deals this year. Some of the deals will be available all week long.
Some state leaders are warning online shoppers to be on the lookout for scams. The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection recommends making sure the website you are shopping on is legitimate and carefully checking return policies before placing an order. They also suggest you check the company's name, physical location, and contact information to ensure that it's the right website.
The Kenosha Police Department has also posted some tips for “Cyber Monday” shoppers on their Facebook page.
