BROOKFIELD - Police are asking for the public's help to find the suspects in a number of home burglaries.
"We had a number of residential burglaries over-night which could be related to two others we have had in the past few weeks," said Captain Philip Horter with Brookfield PD.
The city had previously reported two burglaries that occurred between 9 p.m. and 1 p.m. at occupied homes where people were sleeping.
There were three more burglaries Wednesday night/Thursday morning that were similar to the burglaries from last week. In two of the burglaries, the burglars gained access to the home by finding a garage door opener in an unlocked car. In the other, the burglars entered through an unlocked door.
Last week's burglaries were in the area of Lilly and Burleigh and Capitol and Brookfield Rd, according to Horter. Last night, the burglaries were in the area of North Ave. and Springdale Rd.
The suspect was eventually scared off in all three of the overnight burglaries, and police believe they were likely looking for electronics or wallets.
The suspect seen overnight is described as a black male with short cropped hair, long sleeve shirt, jeans, 5'08- 5'10, medium to stocky build, perhaps in his 20s. He was wearing a black backpack.
"We did recover one bicycle and one bicycle was taken from one of our burglaries," Horter added. "It is believed the suspect is using the bike to move from one area to another while he is committing these burglaries."
The police have released photos of the suspects seen using credit cards stolen from last week's burglaries. Police also released photos of a single female seen on camera using credit cards stolen from a purse in Brookfield.
It is unclear if last week's burglaries are related to the overnight incidents.
If you have any information on any of the suspects, please call Brookfield Police.
