Brewers fans react angrily to Miller Park vandalism

By Jonah Kaplan. CREATED Sep 2, 2013

MILWAUKEE - Brewers fans returned to Miller Park on Monday just a day after police say someone spray painted and defaced at least two statues.

Witnesses tell TODAY'S TMJ4 they say a woman specifically target the Bud Selig statue by the 3rd base entrance and the Worker's Memorial by home plate.
Sandra Mathis, a self-described lifelong fan, called the vandalism "offensive." Mathis camped out Sunday for $1 tickets and says she called 911 after she saw the vandalism happen.
"This place has been my heart and everything," Mathis tells TODAY'S TMJ4. "I couldn't see someone trashing this place up.
Several fans at the ballpark also reacted angrily towards the vandalism. Families we spoke with talked about how difficult it was to explain to kids what had happened.

Both the Milwaukee Brewers and Milwaukee Police Department refused to answer questions about the incident, but a Brewers spokesman said cleanup efforts continue.
Officers did arrest a 54-year-old woman from Mukwonago on Sunday.
