MILWAUKEE - There were two more shootings in Milwaukee overnight, one that left a man dead.

Police said a man was shot and killed inside the Kochanski's Concertina Beer Hall at 37th and Burnham.

The owner of the bar said the shooting happened during an attempted robbery.

"I'm still trying to wrap my head around it," Andy Kochanski, the bar owner said. "I did what I had to do to protect myself and my customers."

Kochanski said three men came into the bar, and two other customers were in the bar at the time. The owner said he used the gun to protect himself.

"Two guys with guns..what are you going to do?" he continued. "You are going to protect yourself, and your customers."

Mayor Tom Barrett spoke about the shooting, saying, "It underscores for people who are out there committing crimes that committing crimes is a dangerous business."

Doc Pfaff returned to Kochanski's bar Friday. The New Berlin man came to show his support for the bar's owner. Pfaff was wounded during a similar robbery attempt back in 2008. He said Kochanski was only protecting his customers.

"When a situation like that takes place you don't get time to analyze or think," said Pfaff.

According to Lt. Mark Stanmeyer with Milwaukee Police, the 23-year-old suspect died at the scene, and the other two suspects fled.

Kochanski was involved in another shooting at his bar back in 2008. That time, it was another attempted robbery, but no one was killed.
