Appleton police solve fatal hit-and-run case

APPLETON - Appleton Police have a suspect In a hit-and-run crash that left a Little Chute man dead. Officers believe this man is the driver of a large red pick-up truck that struck and killed 61 year old Robert Joosten on Nov. 9. Law enforcement says they're working on charges against the man. Meanwhile neighbors who work near the site of the accident say they aren't surprised by what happened.

"The design of Ballard road with two bike lanes. It is a very busy industrial road used for commercial purposes," says Sue Shimon of Appleton.

"The individuals involved didn't take that responsibility and actually made matters worse for themselves because they took off," says Sgt. David Lund of the Appleton Police Department.

Appleton Police have also received several tips on the hit and run crash that injured a Lawrence University student. But they're still asking the public for any information on both incidents.
