MILWAUKEE -- Nine-year-old Osvaldo Sandoval Robles went missing Sunday night. This morning, police returned him home - and our cameras were rolling when his family spoke exclusively to TODAY'S TMJ4.
"I was worried," said father Luis Martinez. "Something bad could have happened...My wife cried all day yesterday and me too."
Today those cries turned to tears of joy. Luis Martinez and his wife Lidia Robles woke up to the good news of their son Osvaldo's well being.
"In the morning I left the door open and police came in and I was surprised," Luis said. "I saw my son - thank you very much."
Osvaldo's return ended a day-and-a-half search around his south side neighborhood near 12th and Mitchell Streets.
Osvaldo said he biked five miles away to Kosciuszko Park and was at a friends house. He said he forgot to call home - but then saw himself on TV.
"I lost track of time," he said.
Police left soon after Osvaldo's homecoming. Officers didn't report any foul play, just a miscommunication.
