Community activist continues search for missing woman

MILWAUKEE - Chris Schwartz is a community activist who planned to do a "grid search" and look for Kelly Dwyer.

But late this week, police told him new evidence came to light - and it wouldn't be beneficial to do a search.

Police would not say what that evidence is.

Schwartz has also been talking to Kelly’s mom, Maureen Dwyer. “I’ve been in contact with her a few times,” explained Schwartz.

“She’s really busy, she’s really hurt, worried, so you know, no one really knows what this feels like until they go through it. It’s the worst nightmare for anyone.”

Thursday, police arrested a friend of Kelly’s on an unrelated drug charge.

Maureen believes Kelly stayed with him, and he may have been the last person to see her.

Kelly never showed up for work at Lululemon in the Third Ward on Saturday.

Schwartz isn't waiting for police to call for the re-start of the grid search. He spent the day passing out flyers, asking for information about Kelly’s whereabouts.

“Until Kelly is found, I feel that we need to be searching, putting up flyers, getting the word, out, and keeping her in the media,” said Schwartz.

The man who is under arrest on the drug charges is still in jail. He has not been formally charged.
