Reporter mistakenly calls murder suspect Hernandez 'Aaron Rodgers'

By Jay Sorgi. CREATED Jun 26, 2013

GREEN BAY - The quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, who happens to have the same first name as a murder suspect and former New England Patriot, was named (seemingly by accident) as that suspect in a news report.

ESPN's Jeremy Schaap, a long-respected journalist and six-time Emmy Award winner for the network, let the words "Aaron Rodgers" slip out instead of Hernandez.

"...implicating Aaron Rodgers in the death of Odin Lloyd."

You can see the video of that slip-up (as captured by a viewer) above in our media gallery.

Rodgers tweeted this comment afterward.

Schaap corrected himself, and let Rodgers know of the mistake.
