RACINE - A group of about 10 kids were chasing June the kitten, but one animal lover came to her rescue before she could be harmed.
Wayne Clingman said it was right here in front of his house where he saw a group of kids chasing the kitten. The youngest of them was two years old, and the oldest was twelve years old.
“It was my opinion, which I strongly believe,” explains Clingman, “that if the younger group of kids would have gotten the kitten it would have died."
When Clingman heard the kids shouting, he rushed outside and saw the mob holding rocks and stones. That’s when he picked up the kitten and placed her in this pet carrier. He feared for the kitten’s safety.
“On a scale of one to 10, I would say an eight or nine because if the kitten would have been caught, without my intervention, the kitten would not be alive today," adds Clingman.
He dropped off June at the Wisconsin Humane Society's Racine Campus.
“It touches my heart. It would touch anyone's heart. Not knowing for a fact, you worry. In my opinion, we all need to do that. If we see something we need to take action," expresses Clingman.
June’s next step is to be spayed, then she’ll be put up for adoption in a few days.
