WEST ALLIS - Death investigation at a West Allis apartment complex for people with mental health issues
The body of a 63 year old woman was found in a hallway of the Transitional Living Services facility. She lived in the building for mental health patients.
Dan Shaffer: "We've seen her outside smoking because they're not allowed in the building. Seemed very nice, very quiet, and kept to herself."
Two men were put in the back of separate police cars at the scene, and driven off. This isn't the first death at the facility. In 2008, a resident confessed to murdering his roommate. Mary McCue Adams lives right next door and came home from church to see that unfold.
Mary McCue Adams: "We should not be put up against something like that. We cannot handle that."
Mary recently built a fence around her backyard to get a little distance.
Mary McCue Adams: "When you have company or somebody comes and they see taking people out in handcuffs."
The facility released a statement about Friday's death -- "Our immediate thoughts are with those who have been adversely affected by this incident."
But for folks like Mary, it's too little too late.
Mary McCue Adams: "They aren't bad people that live there, but sometimes it's just a little overwhelming."
Police haven't released the victim's name, or the names of any suspects. The medical examiner is working on a cause of death.
