MILWAUKEE - Drivers can expect to see ramp and lane closures on I-43/94 for the next few months as crews work to replace bridges.
Crews placed cones and ramp closure signs along I-43/94 early Tuesday morning in preparation for the work.
Long-term closures will affect thousands of drivers who use I-43/94.
The DOT plans to work on 13 bridges in a four-mile stretch of I-43/94, from Howard Avenue to near the High Rise Bridge.
Officials say the work is vital to the area, and it will help with upcoming construction on both the Zoo Interchange and even the Hoan Bridge.
Crews will repair and paint the bridges as well.

Crews hope to have the northbound side done in time for Summerfest, and southbound in time for the Harley 110th Anniversary celebration.
