GREEN BAY - Donald Driver's retirement is bittersweet, a teammate said Wednesday.
"It's a sad day, but a great day," receiver Jordy Nelson told WTMJ's Wis. Afternoon News. "It was a great career and today people can look back and appreciate it."
The news wasn't a surprise to Nelson.
"I knew it was coming," he admitted. "He was dropping some hints."
Driver shook hands with several teammates during Green Bay's loss to the 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round of the playoffs.
"We shook hands and I told him 'thank you for everything you've done,'" Nelson said. "There isn't a better person to learn from."
