Husband appears in court accused of murdering police officer wife

MILWAUKEE - We got our first in-person look at an Iraq War Veteran charged with murdering his wife, a Wauwatosa police officer, when he appeared in court Thursday.

Ben Sebena was wheeled into court wearing a suicide vest.  He was handcuffed and strapped to his chair as his family and friends sat behind him in disbelief.  Sebena didn't say a word in court.
According to the criminal complaint, Ben Sebena stalked and ambushed Jen Sebena outside Fire Station One in downtown Wauwatosa while his wife was on duty early Christmas Eve morning.

Ben Sebena started shooting at Jen Sebena outside the fire station.  When she reached for her gun, he grabbed it away from her.

He shot his wife once in the face and four times in the head.  He apparently told investigators he shot her so many times because he didn't want her to suffer.

Investigators found Jen's gun in the attic of their home in Menomonee Falls during a search.

Authorities have not commented on a motive, but sources tell Today's TMJ4 that Ben Sebena wanted a divorce and his wife wanted to try to reconcile.

Ben Sebena will be back in court next month.

Jen Sebena will be laid to rest tomorrow in Brookfield.
