GERMANTOWN - An alleged serial bank robber and another person were arrested Friday afternoon.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department confirmed that the "Ball Cap Bandit", the suspect is the same man accused of robbing at least nine other banks in southeast Wisconsin since April, and another person have been taken into custody.

The "Ball Cap Bandit", about 6 feet tall, white, around 180-200 pounds and in his late 20s, and that other suspect allegedly were involved in a robbery at a U.S. Bank branch near County Line Rd. and Appleton Friday morning.

Around 3:30 p.m. Friday, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department said they arrested the two suspects at a gas station at S. 6th St. and W. Becher St.

According to that sheriff's department, a sheriff's deputy spotted a vehicle matching the description of the one used in Germantown bank robbery.

Then a Milwaukee Police Department squad along with the sheriff's deputy vehicle blocked that vehicle from leaving the gas station.

The case has been handed over to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Charges and further information are not expected until next week, according to a press release.
