Ex-wife claims MPD officer in controversial OWI arrest physically abused her
MILWAUKEE- The officer seen repeatedly punching Jeffrey Strasser during his drunk driving arrest near N. Water St. and E. Juneau Ave. has had his own troubles with the law.
It turns out, he may have a temper problem, as TODAY'S TMJ4 learned the officer's ex-wife took out a restraining order against him in 2010. "....has been severely depressed and his personality has been altered tremendously," according to the ex-wife. "He abuses legal and illegal drugs resulting in unstable highly explosive episodes of rage over minute issues."
TODAY'S TMJ4 isn't not naming the officer right now, because he hasn't been charged with any crime.
Those fits of rage more than just words. "In the past he has grabbed me, held me down, shook me and slapped me resulting in bruises, pain and neck pain that lasted for 3 days," the woman claimed. "I am in fear of great bodily harm to myself and my guests in my home if he comes over."
A decision of whether Strasser will face charges are still pending with the Milwaukee County district attorney's office. They told TODAY'S TMJ4, "We just began reviewing the case today, but it will be a couple weeks before we reach a decision because we are in the process of collecting additional information."
