MILWAUKEE- The head football coach of Marquette University High School was arrested for driving drunk early Sunday morning, April 1.

Jeff Mazurczak has been with MUHS for more than 20 years and is considered a leader and mentor at the prestigious high school.

But now school officials are reviewing details of his arrest, for driving drunk.

Swerving from one side of the lane to the other, Mazurczak caught the attention of Elm Grove police shortly after 2 a.m. earlier this month.

And it all played out before a police dash cam.

When officers stopped the Marquette High football coach, they found him with bloodshot, glassy eyes.

Officer: "The reason I'm stopping you is for lane deviation is there any reason for that?"
Mazurczak: "I don't think so."
Officer: "Did you realize you were crossing lines? You did once on Bluemound and then once on the turn there too."
Mazurczak: "I didn't try to."

Mazurczak claimed he had two drinks.  He later upped it to four or five.

He told officers he was on his way home from a fundraiser at the school and identified himself as the alumni director.

Dash cam video rolled as Mazurczak struggled through a field sobriety test.

At one point, as the officer described to Mazurczak how to hold his leg for a balance test,  the coach  compared it to workouts with his team.

"Do you understand all of the instructions?"
Mazurczak: "Yea."
Officer: "Do you have any questions?"
Mazurczak: "It's kind of like a, like we have our athletes. I'm the head football coach at Marquette..."

Officers eventually arrested Mazurczak for a failed test and his first OWI.  He had a blood-alcohol content of .11.

TODAY'S TMJ4 stopped by his home Tuesday afternoon but no one answered.

School officials wouldn't talk on camera but sent a statement saying in part:

"Marquette University High School is obviously very saddened and disappointed by the arrest of Jeff Mazurczak, head football coach and director of alumni relations, for driving under the influence of alcohol.  His actions do not reflect the high standards of Marquette University High School."

School officials told TODAY'S TMJ4 they are reviewing the case and will take "appropriate action" when they're done.

TODAY'S TMJ4 also contacted several members of the school's board of directors. No one returned our messages.
